Organizing your pad will make you feel a little calmer and in charge of your life. Going on your day will be way easier if you know precisely where everything is placed. You'll not have to spend thirty minutes of your day rummaging for your favorite shirt, skirt or a pair of jeans. If you need to know how to organize your place and how to keep everything in place, just read along.
Sorting Your Belongings
1. Take off all of your belongings from their current spots. This may seem uncomfortable, and like you're producing a bigger mess, but if you need to organize your room being new, you have to go back to square one. Although you may be confounded by the enormous pile of things you've gathered on your floor, bed or desk guaranteed that you'll spot the proper place for all that you own very soon.
2. Remove all your stuff from your closet
Your dresses, shoes and all that you keep inside your closet can go in a heap on your floor beside or in front of the closet.
3. Remove all your stuff in your desk
You can set the papers and everything else you see on the desk's surface.
4. Remove all your stuff from your dresser
If you're producing too much of a jumble, just remove one drawer at a time so that you don't have to confuse yourself too.
5. Get any extra items that are sitting around and put them may be on your bed or the floor. Now, if taking all out of its position at once is awful and is using too much space, you can begin by taking apart one area at a single time.
Organizing your Belongings
Now, that you have sorted everything and before you start to figure out where all should go, you should take some boxes and mark them for various purposes. Boxes, crates or plastic bins will serve just as well, but boxes are much useful since you can just get rid of them quickly when you're finished organizing and won't need to deal with more disarray. Below are ways on how to label your boxes:
Keep. The things that you keep will be things that you use on a daily basis. If you've utilized the item in the past two or three months, you must keep it.
Store. These are stuff that you can't just throw away, such as anything with sentimental value, but are rarely used. You can further store away a huge part of your clothes that you don't wear till the next season. If it's the midst of the summer, you can keep your winter sweaters, and if it's near the end of the winter, you can save your summer dresses.
Sell or Give. These are things that may serve someone or could be traded, but which you need no more. You may have a fine sweater that you don't fit into anymore that you can give or an old book that you can sell.
Throw. These are stuff that doesn't serve you anymore. If you think that something is not used anymore and would benefit anyone, then might as well throw it rather having it take space in your room.
Getting Rid of Many Items as Possible
This is an essential step. Although you may want to throw all in the "Keep" box or have put each last extra item in the "Store" box, this will not help you be organized. You have to do some soul-searching to decide what you need. Remember that less actually is more; the lesser things you have, the simpler it will be to organize your room. If you have anything you know you will never need anymore but don't want to throw it, try handing it to a friend or any of your family members so you would rather feel better about it handing it to someone else.
Putting Stuff in the Right Place
Now that you've just organized your room, you can start to get rid of all the stuff that you don't need. The earlier you get rid of or stock the other boxes, the simpler it will be to start your organization process.
First, throw out everything in the "Throw" box. Then, find a town church, charities, or any organization that is accepting donations, and take your "Give" boxes there. Some places may tell you that they don't take some of your items. With that, you can either donate them someplace else or throw them away.
Next, sell the items in your "Sell" box. You can either have a garage sale or just put them on Craigslist or any online selling platform.
Arrange your storage boxes. If you have a storage section or a different place outside your room to put them that's great. If none, store them in a portion of your room that you won't be using the space very often, such as beneath your bed or at the back of your cabinet. Make sure to label them accurately, so you know where your items are when you need to find one.
Now that you've set all of your items in their right place, you should have a clean floor. So, take the time to polish it and give your room that shining feel because you won't completely feel organized if your room is not clean. So, how do you keep your room organized?
Create a game plan to stay clean and well-organized. You don't want the hard work and time that you put into organizing and cleaning your room just go to waste. If you go immediately go back to your untidy habits in just one week, you can ruin so much of the labor that you have put in.
