The winds of change have come to modernity and brought a change on women's role in the society. Little by little, women started on doing things that the history didn't show. Today, women are working alongside with men in all aspects. They acknowledge an independent figure, may it be inside their homes or outside in the roads to the office. Increasingly, they are gaining management over their lives and making firm decisions by themselves when talking about education, career, lifestyle, and others.
With this constant boost of women laborers, they have obtained financial independence, which gave them the freedom and opportunity to live their lives in a way they desire. This has also helped them to build their identity as many women are known now in the field of medicine, business management, engineering, artistry, and others. These various professions they have earned paved way to tell everyone that they are worth the respect every man also gets. In fact, they do twice as they should as they balance a commitment to their profession and taking care of their family. Never will they forget the very reason why they are around – to be a mother in their families.
Women empowerment is not only for the urban areas where working women are dominant but even in remote regions in town and villages they start on letting their voices be heard. Whatever status they have in life, they do not take their social and political rights for granted.
While women in this generation do not face discrimination in the society, still they are prone to harassment and exploitation whether emotionally, physically, mentally or sexually. Even in just being a pure housewife, having a small business such as having an online shop or a small store by the side of a house, a woman must be treated like all the others. In the truest sense, women empowerment can only be achieved when there is a change not only in the force that pushes women to bring themselves but also to the rest of the society with regards to womenfolk, gender equality, marriage, and values. And to the woman reading this, chin up, stand out and be proud because you are not "only" a woman!
