How to Make the Most Out of Your Lipstick

Some things are best enjoyed for a short period of time, while there are also others that are best experienced for a longer time. For women, lipsticks are one thing they want to fall on the latter category. Ironically, this is considered to be one of the most important things that we do to start our day, yet we do not have enough time to reapply them at any time of the day. And in order to give you more time being fabulous, here are a few tips on how to make that favorites lippies last longer than it should:

PRIME
Your lips are considered to be a blank wall that has to be painted. Before doing anything, never forget to put the primer on. Cracked lip colors are caused by dehydrated lips, which most probably makes it not last longer than how you want it to be. Using a primer will hydrate your lips, keeping it smooth and polished.

FILL IN
A neutral lip liner or a similar color for your lipstick can be a good choice to fill your lips. If you can’t find the right lip liner, an invisible lip liner will do. This will produce a strong base for your color choice, making them stick to your lips but will not interfere with your lip color.

LAYER
To accurately lock in your lip color, lip stains are of a great help. They last longer than the traditional lipstick, so reapplication and touch – ups throughout the day become lesser. It is best recommended that you use a lip stain first before putting on lipstick to make the color last for the day.

BLOT AWAY
If you are using an ultra – pigmented lip color, the most effective way to make it last long is to apply and blot, and repeat it a few times. Beauty experts say that blotting in between lipstick applications will help the first layer of product to sink and absorb into your lips, stick, and remove excess products. To do this, apply the first layer of your chosen lip color, put a tissue in between your lips, press your lips gently together, and apply another coat, and repeat the process.
