Because of its strength, natural impact, and renewable properties, it has become popular through online selling, advertisements, and exports. Indeed it is important, and more than you could imagine, there are a lot of benefits you could get from a bamboo. Here are the top reasons why this is important in a home (or at least why you should own one).

1.       Bamboos are the fast growing. As it is a grass and not a tree, it grows rapidly and can be fully matured in 3 – 5 years.

2.       Bamboos are important for the atmosphere. They produce 30% more oxygen than trees and play a significant role in maintaining equilibrium between oxygen and carbon dioxide in the atmosphere. They do not need to be replanted because they are self – generating and are ready for harvest after a maximum of five years.

3.       Bamboos are a great wood replacement. They are flexible, lightweight and are stronger than steel and most hardwoods. They are also cheaper in cost compared to other woods that are being used as a construction material.

4.       Bamboos are natural and long lasting controllable barrier. They reduce rain runoff and are proven to be a great weapon in preventing soil erosion because of their extensive root system and large canopy.

5.       Bamboos have a versatile and fast growth cycle. It is, in fact, the most eco-friendly plant because it has a short cycle and annually yields 20 times higher, sometimes higher than timber.



6.       Bamboos are proven to be a helpful material for earthquake architecture. Because they are strong and lightweight, they are essential in earthquake architecture. In an earthquake in Costa Rica in 1992, only houses from the bamboo Project were the only structures left after the destructive event.

7.       Bamboos are renewable resources for Agro forestry production. Because of their ecological adaptability and a wide range of uses, bamboos take a great part in many agro forestry systems.

8.       Bamboos are used as ancient medicine. Because of its tonic and astringent properties, they are used as ancient remedies.

9.       Bamboos play a part in Culture and Arts. As they are deeply rooted in the life of many cultures, through their strength, they remind us to hold on when times get rough.

10.   Bamboos are critical elements of the economy. They grow in tropical zones, which happen to be the top developing countries in the world. Bamboo crops provide jobs and give people the access to the wider market.
