Skins, especially the sensitive ones, always depend on the final say of the experts. Dermatologists know better what we should feed our skins. And being experts are not only for their customers and patients but also for themselves. And as part of the proper skin care we all should follow, here are some products that dermatologists would never use again.
Any skin product with fragrance is on top of the list. One of the most dominant ingredients in this colorful world of beauty products is fragrance. Despite that, this can be largely unregulated. “With fragrance” or “with perfume” label we see in the displays only emphasizes various synthetic chemicals added to the product. Also, these chemicals could trigger allergies. Be sure you are buying the right product with “no fragrance” label, especially if through an online shop.
Next is an incorrect sunscreen. Dermatologists recommend wearing sunscreen every day to maintain a healthy skin. As this is true, it does not mean that any sunscreen can be used. Sunscreens with SPF 30 aren’t advisable, as harmful sun rays might enter the skin. Stick to those with higher SPF, possibly higher than what you think your skin needs.
Strong exfoliation products are also not good for the skin. Some would think that stronger exfoliations are better and abrasive scrubs are good, but a rough skin routine like this might cause dryness and irritation to the skin.
Lastly, extended wear makes ups are not good. Today, many products that do not easily wear out exist in the market. Women prefer buying those products because it helps them reapply less often than the usual. But, let us tell you, this is not good. Those products are composed of silicone polymers which could cause extreme acne and sudden breakouts. Also, it is also not good to sleep with your makeup and keep it overnight.
