Cayenne pepper takes its name from the city of Cayenne in French Guiana which is recognized to have begun in Central and South Americas and is typically used in culinary as a spice, for medicine and even for decorations. It is a pretty hot chili pepper which commonly skinny and red in a 10 to 25 cm long and has a curved point. 

It contains capsaicin - a compound in cayenne pepper that produces its hot and spicy flavor which also has health benefits.
